You don't want to put more than a 1/4" thick layer of Bondo on- that means pulling the dents that are more than 1/4" deep.
Yes; you can also epoxy studs on the tank for pulling dents out, that way you don't have to braise studs onto the tank, then have to grind them off later.
I just saw a tank yesterday that a shop was restoring. He hasn't welded studs for awhile. Lots faster and less damage to the tank.
Color-Rite is great, too! It really helps you match the pieces your're working on to the rest of the bike.

What sort of epoxy would be the strongest for pulling on the dents I wonder? I
I haven't done it myself, but I assume they get the kit from an auto body supply house that sells to shops.
I will have to ask Mike at a store called "Paint and Lacquer" in Reading.
(He is a pro who the pros use to do it, while they do something that makes them more money, like graphics.)
They only sell to shops, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving me more info, since he has sold me paint in the past and helped with technical questions before.

Maybe a body specialist on here would know. I actually did an internet search, as in Google, but couldn't find it.
I will ask around though....
