just 3400 miles on '86 Honda Spree 50cc scooter, removed tank, flushed fuel, removed & blew out petcock and mesh fuel strainer (there was visible evidence of debris). First and only time I believe this has ever been done. Added fresh fuel and Stabil 360 Marine, now starting consistently 1st kick without battery. Dumbo me previously left the key on, so.... I ordered a new one.

My #95 are carefully REFURBED to stock specs, 105 main jets, 38 pilot, N16I needles, pilot screws set to 2.5 turns out
Perfect to offer a long service life for any "Pre-gen" stock airbox/exhaust EX250 from '88-'07

  • my usual, both machine and handiwork (note like-new condition of all brass components)
  • these feature 3 black braces and cable bracket (pro powdercoated by fellow ninjette member @jkv45)
  • all new consumables (o-rings) and new float valves (with dressed seats)
  • new stainless steel hardware all around
  • perfect slide action
  • bench synched throttle plates
  • all circuits cleared and confirmed clear
  • wet tested, fuel levels perfect, no leaks
  • bolt-on runners ready to rock, prepped to deliver a long service life
  • you'll need to set your idle speed & GO

Please contact via PM here (or email [email protected]) to discuss specifics, or with any further questions, for pics, etc. Members thanks for lookin'.

250's done today, hogged out pilot jets, replaced with brand new. Pilot circuits/transition ports clogged too, but back to bolt-on runners yet again.

Did another set of tew fitty carbs today, had typical "jet kit" internals....non-marked (huge) mains, ditto pilots and mis-sized pilot screws as well. Owner reported fouling plugs and bike reluctant to rev. Reverted back to stock OEM jets/ pilot screws, removing the needle shims as well. I do believe it'll solve his issues.

Encountered a 250 set with mismatched, incorrect needle jets installed, obviously from another motorbike altogether. I await delivery of correct items, in the meantime I've cleaned, prepped and wet tested in anticipation of arrival. On left the "found" needle jet, on right is an example of correct. Note incorrect location of stopper ring. The increased height actually prevented full seating of both slides. Somebody acted with extreme neglect in blindly installing these, ruining all throttle "action" and response.
Owner opted for the usual full boat resto....once received/installed they will run properly yet again, saved from the junk heap.

received long awaited package containing needle jet(s) today.....open 'er up...just 1 enclosed! with no packing slip documenting contents! WTF? Vendor unable to count to 2, evidently. Reported to owner, as he's the one who ordered and had it shipped directly to me....its his problem at this point. Jeez.

knocked off another 250 set today, yet another awaits. I'm doing way more 250 than 500's recently.

Leak prevention = tighten the bowl screws. Nah, don't even consider new gaskets/orings, Far cheaper to just tighten the screws.....to the point where they will no longer loosen under normal circumstances, but their heads WILL strip upon removal attempts. Thus removal requiring drastic action via dremel.

Why, oh why has this become the "new norm"? Hey, looka them seats and needles, eh? Obviously, the next 250 set is on the bench. Standby as they are returned to as new condition.
