In an ongoing effort to voluntarily streamline the carb section, I will heretofore post ALL my carb fun /work /crap /pictures /challenges /drama /etc within this thread. I will not include Custom Carb Service VENDOR business chatter, which I will continue to keep separate thus adhering to forum rules.

Apologies for the past clutter, this should put the carb section on a radical diet.

I will commence with these Ducati BDST38 Mikuni carbs, my property, and sorely in need of refurb.

More to follow. Holiday weekend OFF.

by special owner request I returned a jetted 250 carbset back to full stock specs today, during a full refurb process. Notice the impeccably detailed cleaning on the brass tuning components, was much needed. Thankfully, the owner never drilled the slides....so was able to backtrack fully. Owner opted going back to full airbox after a failed stint with pods....thus the carb change imperative.

owner advises sending 2 sets of Ducati/Mikuni's for the usual stuff...soon to be continued

an EX500 "trade in" ....shown as received. WTF? A CRACKED carb top and missing/mismatched jet needle laying (spring missing) inside was found 1 N36N along with 1 unknown jet kit needle and jet kit mains. Dirt/gunk is expected, not a problem, but extensive damage in addition to mismatched parts is an unacceptable situation. I'll ask for some form of compensation....this can't go unanswered. Its not like the owner wasn't even aware of these conditions.

an unusual task today....replacing the (near solid with age) fuel line on my mid-80's Craftsman Chainsaw. In addition cleaned its Walbro carb (needed no parts) reset both HIGH and LOW speed set screws and replaced the fuel filter. Starts on first pull, runs well...quite impressive in view of its age and the fact it hasn't been started/run in maybe 10 years(?)

I'm surprised that chainsaw didn't need crank seals. I got one sitting in my shed, junk.

valid point but nope, remains operational. I'm actually quite impressed with the thing as ancient as it is.

brass tuning components in ultrasonic, these things are a mess, certain parts missing causing a massive vac leak in 1 carb, 2 sticking slides due to presence of grit. A ton of work ahead. Pics.
