@FlipFlop those bar ends and reservoir cover are sick! where does one find those?
I got all that on EBay a few years ago. Cheap stuff that replaced the rashed ones as my bike was a salvage bike. You put a Corbin on yours, that is the only way to go. I spent a lot of money throwing cash at that company but my butt loves the ride so much better. I can ride all day with no question of my ride decisions.

not an EX however......... some mid-season duties performed on my Ducati SS800 today....an oil/filter change, removing/examining/tightening spark plugs, checked/tightened all front axle related hardware and adjusted the front steering stem bearing. Lubed the chain, followed up with a cleanup/wipedown of all bodywork.

Runs as good as she looks at 10,500 miles now. I take advantage of the "mid-season" as the perfect time for any catch-up required maintenance.

I got some FREE! saddlebags from the freepile at a yard sale yesterday...one side has a bit of a tear near a zipper but a needle and thread worked an I won't notice it after a week or so...Not sure if they're any good yet but seem solid and not cheesy. Expandable type too. The best is , I have a set of usefully capacious bags for each bike! and I won't have to move bags from one to another with all the quirks attaching them to each model of bike.

Got some new grips on the ninja and wow 40k miles will really wear a set out!
Also got some new lighting installed. New license plate frame, (running, brake turn,) added a 6 pin plug the tucks under the seat and flips out to add aux lighting to my bike rack for extra safety.

The adaptor for the harness was 6 pins and I only needed 5 for the rear light install. I'm thinking about using that final pin for up glow lighting on the bicycle for ultimate at night coolness and safety perhaps

All aux wiring was added without cutting any stock wiring so easy to remove or modify, basically just a second harness that plugs in with the stock harness near the taillight and turn signal connectors. Stoked on the install now time for some long bike on bike trips! Only a couple more items and the 500 is ready for the next 60k miles of adventure.

Lubed my chain. Burnt myself on the exhaust in the process. Who would've thought the exhaust can get that hot. 😆

on my Honda CBR650R at 7100 miles......changed oil and filter ( 3rd? 4th? time now) and finished with a badly needed detailing. Used my favorite Honda Spray Polish!
The Honda is running impeccably, as it should!

Haven’t done much. Caught the 😷 and isolating. But since my last post: new pilot road 2 back tire, brokerivets/replaced/riveted new xring chain and replaced sprockets to 15/44 (old: 16/41), put sintered pads* on the rear, remounted and torqued rear. Bought tint to put on headlight to match black windscreen, need to put on sintered front pads when I’m well.

Considering new halogen while I’m working on the front. Any suggestions on LED swap? Haven’t really rode the ex500 since Covid started 2020 but enjoying the beast since I took her out last.

* from sprocket center. Super fast delivery and the owner took my call when I called their help line. Chain breaker/rivet from Amazon (cheap one) used dremel to prep the breaking and delboy YouTube for tutorial. Pads were Revzilla specials

Side note: I am not going to lie, I’m kind of glad that original_equipment_manufacturer (😉) is no longer posting here. One of the reasons I stopped visiting so long ago. Everyone else is cool as ice.

@budhole
Stick around this time. We may have some other surprises in store for ya. 😁

I didn't know you had a 250.

Here's my XT225.

never mind
Awe go on then go to ask why did you choose a 3 to 1 ratio seems a bit low to me I once tried a 15 on the front of the gen 2 (as well as many others) with a 42 on the back, never liked it always seemed to be in the wrong gear all the time.

lol. I was wondering. I wasn’t sure what ratio but 15/44 appears to be popular and even suggested by fog at times. This would be the first time I have regeared anything so who knows if I’ll like it or if I swap back. I wanted more punch. I really don’t care about top end speed. One more reason I bought the xt250.

The 15/44 regearing feels great. I think with a fog airbox mod the bike would feel like new. I put on the front sintered brake pads and took the bike for a spin. I noticed a lack of stopping power with the sintered pads all-around and scraping noises coming from the back brake. Apparently when reassembling the the rear axle assembly, I screwed up on the brakes. I was dragging the rotor/disc between bare metal of the caliper-assembly and the back of a brake pad. DANGIT. So I ebay-specialed a used disc because I did some serious damage/scoring to the rear rotor. Ninja is sidelined until that comes in. I went ahead and removed the headlight and tinted it with some cheap Amazon tint. I need to reinstall it. Took inventory of a few missing nuts/bolts on turn signal, mirror, headlight assembly, fairing-to-frame. I will get hardware from HD but thanks to P-zilla I at least know what sizes I am looking for!

Head light tint before/after (I could have gone darker, but this is the tint I bought!).

I see them! Looks good. How do you think it will hold up? I got some for my Blackbird and it was cheap feeling and peeled it off.
Heckifino. Hope they do. Bike is kept garaged so uv shouldn’t do too much damage to it.
I replaced missing bolts and reassembled front fairing. Still waiting on the new rear disc
