The internet has proved unreliable for my search so I thought to ask the all mighty ones. I have a 2007 ex500 project and whilst I repair it I thought while the engine sits on a table I look into Nickasil or nickel silicon carbide plating. It’s used in race bikes to reduce friction and it’s quite hard. You can get aluminum cylinders plated with this so I hope I have them but considering this bike isn’t a race ready or a dirt bike... I have a feeling they’re iron. Any info is helpful since I don’t remember what the mechanic said, or if someone knows where to find an aluminum sleeve for the bike. Thanks

I would contact a few import speed shops as they very likely have experience with such liners.
