whats different between the two seats that wont let them fit?
Looks like the shapes are just slightly different. You could probably ghetto-rig a fit since the tank contour is the same, but it won't fit snugly.

According to the Kawasaki parts catalogue the seat for Gen 1 and Gen 2 has the same number! 53003. Just saying.
actually, (for the purpose of accuracy only) they are listed with different part numbers. (kawasaki web site)
gen 1, #53001A. with sub part number #53001-159-MA.
gen 2, #53001. with sub part number #53001-1726- MA.

I think the A in number means for gen 1 (A model)

I did look into the Corbin because of someone showing a possible bike purchase in Berkley....but holy damn are they pricey. For the ex I'm seeing the possibility of a two person with a backrest thats removable as the only option which is over 600...backrest would be less than favorable so I wish there was an option to go for just the seat ..but the customizing snd the comfort seem like it would be well worth it someday.
