The wiring diagram may come in handy.
I just found that my 2005's brake light is either not working or is always on (seems too bright).
Neither Front nor rear brake use change the tail-light.

It had a crunch on the right front before I bought it, & the brake handle is bent downwards a bit.
The right front turn signal is gone. Brakes work fine otherwise.

Guess I won't ride it to school Wednesday. Shoot.

Troubleshooting suggestions are welcome, of course.

ALthough you may have already thought of it, I would suggest buying a repair manual since you are going to be wrenching on the bike quite a bit, from what I understand.

Clymer and Haynes are two non-OEM books. You can also get the OEM versions from Kawasaki.

If you poke around enough at kawasaki.com, you can find all the parts diagrams and some electrical diagrams. You have to follow the "owner info" link to get there. Here is a screen shot of the chasis electrical.

You'll need an updated browser, like FF 2.0 to browse that section.

Steve, that's cool. Here's hoping I can get it to full size (readable) or find my way around the Kawasaki-site to fond that same image. I have windows XP & have been using Firefox but maybe I oughta try it w/ the updated I-Explorer. I'll look harder now that I know it's there.

I have the Clymers book on my list for Santa ($23 at Amazon.com), along w/ a bunch of other Ninja 500 trinkets. Bart

Hey Bart - that wiring diagram from the website will be in that package I e-mailed you awhile ago - not sure if it'll help, but it's in there!

Royson,
I just double checked my ex-500 Private Messages & I have 1 email from you suggesting that I write the local newspaper about my Gearheads school club. I didn't see (or don't know how to look for) any attachments. ??? Did you send it to my Yahoo.com mail? Maybe it got filtered to SPAM. You weren't eating any Spam when you sent it were you? ;)
