Good luck! There's one out there, but finding it...I would save an eBay search and regularly check OfferUp and Craigs List. These were economical beginner bikes and the vast majority have been thrashed - not to mention 30 years old! But, with patience, you'll fund one. When you do, kindly post it here!

Good. Things to consider since it is now 32 years old...
Check tank for rust. Treat/coat as necessary.
Replace cam chain tensioner and flywheel (f not already done).***
C.O.M.P.L.E.T.E. carb rebuild (unless it has been kept in running condition).
Tire dates?
Caliper/pads/master cylinder service.
Filters, oil and plugs.

***Only the one-time replacement of cam chain tensioner and flywheel are things outside of normal maintenance items.

This stuff is nothing to take lightly since you went to so much trouble to find this particular gen 500, and to keep it ridable.

I will look into flywheel and tensioner. Thanks

Nice find!

And for the record...NO GARAGE should be that pristine!!!
i usually just keep this stuff in here. I have another garage for the other stuff that I work on. But it’s also nice lol.
All of my bikes and cars are always 100% serviced and perfect at all times as I rotate through everything

Congrats, and let me say, you are obviously not the typical ex-500 owner LOL!
I'm glad to see one of these bikes kept in such amazingly fine shape. They're such fun bikes and destined to become a classic IMO. You apparently share that opinion.
