Has anyone tried replacing their stock rear shock with one from a '93-'95 ZX-7 Ninja? They look almost identical so I'm wondering it it would work. The ZX-7 shock might be about an inch longer between the two mounting points. Would this cause a problem mounting the shock?

I'm very tempted to give this a try! ;D

Thank you for any feedback!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I haven't heard of this mod but maybe you'd like to try it and let us know?

An inch longer at the shock will result in about 2 3/4" to 3" at the wheel due to the linkage leverage. A bit much in my estimation. :)

Thank you for the info! I think I may still get one but take it to a machine shop and have a new hole drilled through the mount. Thus placing the two mounting points the same exact distance as the stock shock. I won't know for sure if this will work without acutally purchasing a used ZX-7 Shock and comparing the two right next to each other. So I guess its off to Ebay!!!! ;D

Thanks again!
