The lady friend hasnt ordered the manual yet, and I want to pull the carbs tomorrow to clean them. What exactly do I have to pull out of there to get the carbs? Looks to me like it is held in place by boots on either side, but no idea what else to pull to get those bastards out.

While it is off, what can I pull off that wont have to be replaced by a specific gasket that I wont have.

Thanks

Correct, boots are the only thing holding them on. Have to remove the tank to get to them, then throttle and choke cables, fuel line, vacuum line to petcock and PAR system. Just label everything as you remove it so you can get it back on correctly.

Float bowls have a gasket that may or may not need to be replaced, other than that just work over a clean surface so you can see anything small you may drop. Install an in-line fuel filter when you reassemble.

Do not spray or soak the diaphragm with any chemicals. Also leave it out of direct sunlight :)

also clean needles and seats........and use compressed air to blow out pilot, main and air orifices

and verify float heights all hunky-dorey ;D

BTW...float bowls have o-rings (not gaskets) just leave them alone, other than wiping mating surfaces clean.

work over a white towel spread over your workbench (chances are less something will be lost) and remove and replace parts to the same carb from whence they came, huh? did i say that? ;D

good luck
