Missing Chain adjustment nut

It seems that over the last month, one of my adjustment nuts and the black cap that is supposed too cover the swingarms end fell off somehow. I noticed it after i went too clean and adjust my chain. Where can i get a replacement? And is this dangerous?

They're used to adjust the position of the axle for proper chain tension and wheel alignment. Once you've torqued down the axle, they shouldn't be doing anything, so there's no immediate danger. However, you can't really adjust it without them, so you'll probably want to replace the missing parts sooner rather than later.

You can get a replacement anywhere you get other parts - dealer, retailers, eBay, forums, etc.

No immediate danger.
Nothing like your wheel is going to fall off or anything.

But you SHOULD replace the parts sooner than later.
Don't be "that guy" who passes the problem on.
Fix your stuff.

I seem to recall a post from a few weeks ago from someone why was making/selling the plates, but I can't find it now.

Post in the Want To Buy and maybe we can keep it in the community.

How slack is your chain?

You should have 1.57" at most. 1.37" at least.

As measured from the middle of chain on the bottom run between front and rear sprockets.

If you must.... loosen the axle just enough.... and measure the rim to the swingarm clearance.
Make them equal. Tighten the axle.

The "string thing" is best but what I said will get you by until yu can do it proper.

Understand?

I have a shitload of slack at the moment, anytime i accelerate or decelerate my chain pops against the swingarm. I know how too adjust it properly, i am just missing the adjuster cap on 1 side so i was wanting too know if there was a way too adjust the chain while missing the plate.

And while typing this i realized i could just do 1 side then put that cap on the other and do the second side...
